E' uscito il 6 novembre l'ottavo album di Robbie Williams che si intitola "Reality Killed The Video Star" prodotto da Trevor Horn. Tra le tante collaborazioni c’è anche quella con Guy Chambers, con il quale ha collaborato in passato per il famoso brano “Angels”.
Una colonna sonora dei tempi moderni che ripercorre sonorità dagli anni ’60 ad oggi.
Il primo singolo estratto dall’album è “Bodies” che suona a tutto volume nelle radio da più di un mese riscuotendo molto successo.
Il titolo dell'album fa riferimento al brano del 1979 "Video Killed The Radio Star" dei Buggles.

“NELLA LISTA DELLE CATTIVE ABITUDINI” non è un disco che vuole indicare una strada, proporre delle soluzioni. È un invito a tenere gli occhi aperti sapendo che è molto probabile che ciò che vedremo non ci piacerà, forse ci porterà al disgusto. Tuttavia capire è l’unica strada per essere critici e poter essere lucidi, per reagire e agire senza lasciarsi tentare dalla via più breve, quella dell’abitudine allo stato delle cose e all’indifferenza. Capire come resistenza e speranza. Il nuovo album dei VELVET si costruisce sulla rabbia verso un sistema universalmente condiviso che non mantiene nessuna delle proprie promesse, che non ha cura del proprio futuro e che irresponsabilmente lo inquina come se domani ci fosse la possibilità di trasferirsi su un altro pianeta senza pagare il conto. Non parlare, non credere, non protestare, non interessarsi se non alle proprie strettissime esigenze, mentire, dare valore al niente, non ricordare, ascoltare ma non sentire, evitare di comprendere. Abbiamo tutti una lista delle cattive abitudini. Siamo tutti coinvolti stavolta.

George Merk, doppio figlio d’arte (la mamma è Rita Pavone, il papà Teddy Reno) nasce a Lugano il 19 maggio 1974. Inevitabile che la famiglia gli trasmetta fin da subito la passione per la Grande Musica. Sullo stereo di casa passa di tutto (soprattutto Frank Sinatra, Beatles, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Kinks ma anche Bobby Darin e Jethro Tull), ma è sui banchi di scuola che nasce la vera passione per la chitarra. A 15 anni comincia a calcare il palco esibendosi con svariate piccole bands. La necessità di scrivere e trasmettere le proprie emozioni lo fanno ritrovare “con la chitarra a tracolla e la penna in mano” come ama raccontare di se stesso. A 20 anni decide che la sua sarà una vita da cantautore, applicandosi alla stesura di musiche, testi ed arrangiamenti con cognizione di causa e abilità.
Nel 2002 fonda il suo primo quartetto denominato George, assieme ad alcuni compagni di scuola. Dopo un breve periodo di rodaggio esce un primo album completamente autoprodotto intitolato George. Il CD, interamente scritto, arrangiato e registrato da Merk, viene stampato all’inizio del 2003 e si fa subito notare tra gli addetti ai lavori per la maturità della scrittura e la freschezza degli arrangiamenti (spicca la collaborazione con l’Orchestra Filarmonica di Sofia). Il singolo Winter entra subito nelle classifiche e nelle playlist delle radio svizzere, restandoci a lungo e la band viene insignita del premio Myrtha Gabardi, riconoscimento consegnato a Sanremo come “Miglior Gruppo Emergente Staniero”.
L’amore per lo stile e le sonorità anglosassoni portano George a trasferirsi stabilmente a Londra per quasi due anni. Un soggiorno ricco di preziosi incontri umani e professionali al termine del quale George Merk si ripresenta sul mercato con A Lazy One, singolo destinato a ricalcare e superare i successi riscossi in precedenza da Winter. Il cambio stilistico verso sonorità più marcatamente rock è già evidente e il brano risulta tra i più trasmessi dalle radio svizzere attirando l’attenzione e il supporto (ed entrando nelle playlist) del conduttore della BBC Chris Moyles, icona indiscussa della radiofonia britannica.
Nell’aprile 2008 esce Best Is Yet To Come, EP di 5 brani contenente anche Mask On che, assieme alla title track, diventa un successo su diversi network radiofonici del Regno Unito (oltre alla BBC, Link FM ed HFM).

Prestigiose apparizioni televisive sulle reti nazionali svizzera (un travolgente showcase alla Rete Tre Svizzera a capo del suo energico power trio ha reso Mask On tra i singoli più trasmessi della scorsa stagione, da cui la sua inclusione nella compilation MX3 Selection, che raccoglie il meglio delle produzioni elvetiche) e italiana (Scalo 76 Cargo su Rai Due) hanno anticipato l’uscita di X, il nuovo album di George Merk nei negozi dal 10 aprile 2009 su etichetta Tube Jam Records (distribuzione I.R.D.).

BOB DYLAN live in Milan 15/04/2009
Ieri sera sul palco del Forum d'Assago di Milano è salito Bob Dylan insieme alla sua band.
Il Menestrello di Duluth ha cantato per due ore pezzi vecchi e nuovi scelti ma dal suo vastissimo repertorio.
Regalo inatteso per il pubblico milanese quando si è avvicinato al centro del palco per imbracciare la chitarra e cantare il brano "Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues".
Non c'è stato il coretto tanto atteso del brano "Just Like A Woman" da parte del pubblico ma durante "Like A Rolling Stones", Bob Dylan, si è divertito a cantare insieme a tutti i presenti un breve pezzo del ritornello.
Con la sua voce calda e profonda ha interpretato le canzoni scelte per l'occasione con la solita grinta mostrando solo l'amore per la musica.
Poche le parole sul palco che hanno lasciato molto tempo alle lunghe interpretazioni dei brani anche grazie alla qualità della band che suona con lui da molti anni.

MUSICA: Gemelli DiVersi "Senza Fine. 98-09"
“Senza Fine. 98-09” (RCA/Sony Music), il primo greatest hits dei GEMELLI DIVERSI (THG - DJ, Grido e Thema – rappers, Strano - cantante) che contiene “Vivi per un miracolo” (brano presentato nella categoria “Artisti” della 59ma edizione del Festival di Sanremo), è entrato direttamente all’ottavo posto della classifica Fimi Nielsen di questa settimana con oltre 30 mila copie vendute. I Gemelli DiVersi sono, insieme a Marco Carta e Marco Masini, gli unici artisti sanremesi presenti nella top ten della classifica.
Non è solo la classifica ufficiale dei dischi più venduti in Italia a segnare il successo del quartetto milanese. Un successo legato anche e soprattutto a “Vivi per un miracolo”, singolo attualmente in rotazione su tutte le emittenti radiofoniche dove è salito in una sola settimana di ben 37 posizioni, passando dall’ 81° al 44° posizione del Music Control (Top 50). Anche il video del singolo, girato a Barcellona da Cosimo Alemà, è programmato da tutte le emittenti televisive musicali e gode di altissima visibilità anche sul web.

"It's Not Me, It's You" è il secondo album della pop star britannica Lily Allen. E' stato pubblicato in Europa il 9 febbraio 2009; a due anni di distanza dal primo lavoro "Alright, Still". In Aprile 2008 Lily aveva annunciato che stava lavorando ad un nuovo sounds per il nuovo album. Effettivamente questo album è molto più curato del precedente. Si percepisce la maturazione di Lily e la sua voglia di conquistare il mondo pop. La sua voce sensuale cambia tonalità a seconda delle diverse sonorità che questo album propone.

MUSICA: The Fray "The Fray"
Il 3 febbraio è uscito il nuovo album della band di Denver. Lo hanno intitolato con il loro nome. Forse una mossa anti-pirateria. L'album include "You Found Me", il singolo che fa da colonna sonora alla quinta serie del telefilm Lost (attualmente in onda sulla ABC). Le sonorità del band statunitense si confermano ballad rock. La voce di Isaac Slade si raffina a tal punto da somigliare a quella di Billy Corgan, specialmente nella traccia numero otto. Le influenze principali dell'album provengono dai Coldplay.

Un album straziante che descrive il malessere della società moderna. Suoni malinconici che aiutano a riflettere. La sua voce e il suo pianoforte sono i protagonisti di quasi tutte le tracce dell'album.
E' uscito il 20 gennaio il terzo album di Antony Hegarty meglio conosciuto come Antony and the JohnsonS. "The Crying Light" è dedicato alla figura del danzatore e coreografo giapponese Kazuo Ohno (raffigurato sulla copertina dell'album).

La band è essenzialmente incentrata sulla figura del cantante Antony, il cui nome completo è Antony Hegarty. Nato in Inghilterra, a Chichester, West Sussex nel 1971, Antony si trasferì ad Amsterdam nel 1977 per 18 mesi prima di sistemarsi a San José, California nel 1981. Da adolescente fu influenzato dal synth pop britannico - in particolare da cantanti come Marc Almond e Boy George. A quest'ultimo cantante Antony ha dedicato una canzone, "You are my sister" ("Sei la mia sorella") un omaggio che allude scherzosamente alla comune condizione di gay dichiarati (nel gergo gay sia inglese che italiano la parola "sorella" è usato talvolta per indicare scherzosamente un'altra persona omosessuale).
Nel 1990 si traferì a Manhattan, dove fondò il collettivo Blacklips con Johanna Constantine.
Il musicista sperimentale britannico David Tibet dei Current 93 ascoltò un loro demo e si offrì di pubblicare la musica di Antony con la sua etichetta Dutro. L'album di debutto, Antony and the Johnsons fu pubblicato nel 2000. L'anno successivo Antony pubblicò un breve ep, I Fell in Love with a Dead Boy ("Mi sono innamorato di un ragazzo morto"), che, oltre alla title track, conteneva una cover di un brano di David Lynch/Angelo Badalamenti e Soft Black Star, cover dei Current 93.
Il produttore Hal Willner ascoltò l'ep e lo passò a Lou Reed che reclutò Antony per il suo progetto The Raven. MUSICA: Seal "Soul" album
Una delle voci più belle del mondo è tornata. A novembre è uscito "Soul" l'album dell'inglese SEAL che rende omaggio a 12 grandi classici del soul. Il produttore, David Foster, ha lavorato insieme a Micheal Bublé.
"A Change Is Gonna Come" è il primo singolo estratto ed è anche la prima traccia dell'album. Brano che Sam Cooke scrisse dopo aver ascoltato "Blowin' In The Wind" di Bob Dylan. E' diventato l'inno della vittoria presidenziale di Barack Obama grazie al testo che inneggia al cambiamento.
